8.25 Carrier Question

I have an 8.25 axle which came with a 4.10:1 sure grip, but I'd like to change to a highway gear and keep the sure grip. Can the same sure grip carrier in the axle be used for both size ring gears?

Yes but there is threshold where I believe the carrier size changes. I believe it's 2:76 but if you do a search for 8 1/4 carrier on this forum you can confirm that size.

I do believe that is correct. Ring gear below 2.76 need a special carrier IIRC.

Thanks. I was thinking of something in the 3.07 to 3.21 range, so I should be good.

2.71 ,3.21,3.55,3.91, etc are the same carrier. 2.45,2.21 takes another.
