Have: A body 8&3/4 housing shortened 1/4 on each side 52&1/8" OAL) by Moser. Chop saw shortened OE A body OE 8&3/4 axles. I can get the pass side end play down to minimum (~.010") with the adjuster but on pass side I had to take another cut with the saw & I think I went too far since with the b plate/foam/shim gaskets all in place & nuts tightened down I can move the axle in/out with the ~1/8" of free play that that side has like the axle ain't butting against the center thingie (which is in place/742 5:57 open welded spiders). will this be a problem with the OE tapered roller bearing not being "together" enough or possibly cause another issue (circle track app). I could source another pass axle & start over if needed. Your thoughts please. RR

Are you sure both pieces of the thrust button are in there? Were they pinned together?

Is it possible one side fell out when you put the center in?

You can check by pulling the axle out and look down the tube with a flashlight. If you see a "hole", it may have fallen out if they weren't pinned together.

I wouldn't like that kinda play, lack of bearing preload on that side will likely become an issue.

its an open/non sure grip carrier that has the non removeable "flat" faces that were in place as opposed to the pin/2 buttons of a SG. Yes it now has the same amt of play on the dr side as you'd see if the pig was not in there. Sounds like I need to grab another axle & start over. My lack of patience bit me on this one. I should have done some slow grinding as opposed to the chop saw that requires a substantial amt of material to be cut.
