I have a 74 Duster and a 8 3/4 from a dodge pick up. Im thinking of cutting it down. Lets see what some of you guys have done. Width, axles wheel selection ect. Id like to get some good size tires under it but dont want to mini tub. Maybe inboard springs.

Well, first thing is that the truck perches are on the top and cars have theirs on the bottom so they will have to be moved. Next is the fact that the only ends available to weld on are for the "Green" bearings, not a problem if you plan to use those. The biggest factor is the fact that the ends must be perfectly in line and concentric to the axles or bearing failure is a real possibility. My opinion would be to have the job done by a competent shop that has the jig to install them perfectly, or it will be time and $$$ wasted. There are a couple shops around me that routinely do this for $175.00 to any specification. Money well spent IMO!!! Geof
