8 3/4 identification

By the date code it looks like a 1957 chunk. My book goes back to 57 and lists a #1634985 so a 983 would be earlier. 1 3/8" small pinion. A 4:10 gear probably came out of a pick up.

The rear came out of a dodge A100 I believe, and too bad its the small pinion, but Im not racing or anything, so Itll last me just fine, better than the 7 1/4 I have in the car currently lol

Yeah, I got one out of a 1958 Dodge 1/2 ton pickup. 3.58 ratio. I think that the 3 digit number is 657.
