8 3\4 swap?? Bearings?

So I have purchased a used and not quite assembled 489 c\section with clutch style suregrip. Pinion bearing not all the way on and ring gear turns not so freely! So I have installed new pinion bearings and have reassembled unit, it seems when I tighten side bearing caps they pinch outter races and side adj'ers are to tight to turn?????Soooooo I moved everything over to another known good 489 case open and have noticed that the side bearings are different not as wide! so I am assuming prev owner of first c\section put together with wrong side bearing would not turn beat pinion part out and gave up put it on the shelf for 20 yrs till I came along! Side bearings on unit timkin 25520 on other open unit lm104912 caps appear the same ,so is the width of my side bearing screwin me up or what?? C\section # of the one I will be using 2881489 posi unit#30487 ring and pinion 3:55 taper 489??
 
The clutch Sg should use 25520 and 25590 cone and cup. You have to use the right cone/cup combo when you install it in the carrier.
 
It seem that the 25520 outer race interferes with the threads on side bearing adj and when caps are tightend down things get tight ie ring gear and carrier??
 
Anyone do the threads on side adj'er interfere with outer race 25520?????
 
Got it together just very finicky , first case bearing caps tweaked from assembling with pinion bearing cocked and not on all the way!!!! Thank gosh for spare part!
 
...........Did u check ur pinion depth and gear pattern, cause u just cant randomly change gears into different cases.....kim......
