Hello folks,
Can someone help with how to remove the inner seal from the 8.75 housing? I was trying to use a seal puller I have, but it doesn't give me much pull when in the axle tube. Help.

A lot of times you can just catch them with the axle and pull them out. Mine wouldn't budge that way so I took a piece of conduit and went in from the other side and just tapped a few time with a hammer and they popped loose. That is if you have the center section out.

Done. Thank you, perfect approach! I had a long spare piece of conduit, cut it a little, went through the other side, a few careful blows with a hammer, presto!

Another method (especially if you're only resealing one side) is to use a slidehammer with a hooked end or one of the dent puller versions and go right into the steel face of the seal.

Good deal! If you haven't put the seals in yet, apply some grease on the back side to aid in holding that little spring in place when you seat them.

I haven't installed new ones yet, the housing is at a local machine shop in the hot tank, then it's off to get blasted and powder coated.
But I will keep that tip in mind, thanks!

It's a good idea because that little spring can pop off when you seat the seal. Also when you slide your axles in I would put some Saran wrap or a piece of newspaper over the splines so it doesn't nick the rubber. After it's through you can just pull it off by reaching through the center.
