I have a 489 case sure grip and am upgrading to a 1350 yoke. I have the crush eliminator.

Can I just zip off the pinion nut and put in the new yoke, and then torque the pinion nut? Also what is the torque spec?

Yes and as tight as an impact will get it with 3-4 good trigger pulls once tight since you have the crush sleeve. Going 1350’s is a good call. I did the same to my duster a few years back..

Most impacts would put way more than 250 ft lbs on it as u describe how to install it. Mine will strip the nut if I were to let it. Torque spec is 250 ft lbs. A flare rate mechanics trick is to put a line across the nut and the case, the re install the nut then tq it back to the same spot. A little blue loctite will make sure the nut stays in place. Kim
