9" Ford install Question

My stock gas tank wore a hole throw it because I had a LPW Racing Diff Cover that was just too big. I have a stock 8 1/4 open diff rear and would like to upgrade to a 9" Ford. I was wondering if there are any clearance issues with installing the 9" with the Stock Gas tank or any other clearance issues anywhere else.

I don't need advice on "You should go with a Dana 60, 8 3/4, etc, instead".

Awesome, still running stock fuel tank? Did you shorten your stock drive shaft or get a new one?

I sure don't see why you'd have any issues at all, since the 8 3/4 is the same type rear axle and is basically the same size and they fit fine. Go for it. The 9" is a very strong rear axle.

I run one under my 67, if I live long enough to ever get it together. No issues. "Around here," 8 3/4 parts are far and few, and I insist on having a 3rd member axle.

Stock tank, unsure if shaft was modified though as I bought it that way
