Do I need one of those 90 degree oil filter adapters to run a 340 in my 71 Demon? I have an engine out of an E-body Cuda and it doesn't have an adapter.

Maybe, alot depends on the header itself. I didn't need it with my V8 Duster and Hooker Comp (AKA Regular) headers. E-bodies I've had and still have didn't have them and the oil filter cleared, though where the engine came from is moot.
(OK, I think you know that.....runnin and duckin)

on my 72 340 no adapter its easy to get filter on and off and i have stock manifolds. pain in the butt on my 68 340 with the adapter but had to have it with the headers. I would say if you can get the filter off somewhat easy then no i wouldnt get one just more potential areas to leak oil

Tried to upload a pic of what I ran into with my 340..... didn't work. I have stock HP manifolds and it was in the way. Maybe they are not the correct year. But, anyway, put it together and you will know right away if you need a 90 degree oil filter adaptor. If you can get by w/o that is better. Less trouble spots for oil leaks like Mopar2 said. Good Luck...
