I am not at my computer so I am not sure if I was able to get these pictures as small as they are supposed to be.

1) Are you able to switch the older single contact on older a904 transmissions over to the newer a904 with the three contacts without having any problems with reverse lights or funky electrical issues? Pictures below.

If possible, I'd like to do this monkeybusiness while the trans is out of the car.

2) I have also noticed that the kickdown linkage lever is longer on the newer trans. So I need to know if I need to put the shorter lever from the old trans on the new trans. Is the short lever for 2bbl and the longer lever used for 4bbl carb cars?

Thanks in advance for all the help.

3 prone swithc...center is ground for the starter relay switch...outside prones are back up lights..

1 prone....ground for starter relay switch...NO back up lights...

I think the rooster comb on the linkage inside the trans has to be changed over to match the 3 prong switch.

Correct, part in the trans that operates the switch ( called rooster comb ) is different.
The earlier for single function switch can destroy a new dual function switch.
As for the levers and linkages to the trans, Yes there are a few different setups. Even the throttle cable from pedal to carb is different for 2 brl and 4 brl
