At what performance level is this shaft required in a drag car.
3100 pound 68 dart say 570 horse motor with trans brake, 10 second et.
Will the stock imputed shaft be reliable. Opinions wanted.

Thanks
Duane

I,ve been running in the 10,s for 5 yrs now with stock 904 input shaft.Car is about 525hp,4500 stall,t.brake.Car weighs 3000lbs and made near 2000 passes...same Trans, just refreshed every 2 yrs.

I have about 1,000 pass on stock imputed shaft. The car weight 3130 and the motor making 660hp and 575tr. I launch at 3600 off the trans brake. I had no problems

I am using a 999 out of a mid 1980s diplomat or something. It was one of the lock up versions
With the low 2.74 first gear and all four pinion steel planetaries. I picked up a slant six pump and input shaft from a older non lockup model to convert the 999 to non lockup.
