I was told if you use the tube and stick together, it will read correctly. I know they enter the pan the same.

So do 727 tubes, but, the curve is different and the mounting tab is wrong. There's also an early and a late tube. The early one also bolts in at the bottom next to the hole in the case. The later ones don't have that tab and instead just use the strap type tab that attaches to the bell housing bolt.
