Hi Guys,

The flexplate in my Dart has no teeth left thanks to a bad starter. Ive got the new starter but i need to know if the flexplate or Torque Converter is a 10" or 10 1/2" bolt pattern.

A company over here has both but which size is it??

Thanks again
Nick

As you may be able to tell, i know nothing about transmissions!! LOL

The ring gear in on your converter not the flexplate. If the ring gear is bad you have to change your converter.

Also if it's stock it's most likely a 11" converter so it would be a 10 1/2" BP

So i need another Converter.
Would I need another flexplate for fitting or would the old one be ok??

10 1/2" BP converter, is that the small size??

Sorry for all the questions guys. My ford flywheel has the teeth on it you see!! lol

If the holes aren't wobbled out you can re-use the flexplate. Just order a convertor for a 904. You can probably get one on E-bay for pretty cheap or a stock replacment for your car from an autoparts store. The BP shouldn't matter for a stock application...IIRC Mopar only made an 11" converter for the 904.

Measure your flex plate across from center of one converter bolt hole to another. I just did this with my 904 and my stock flexpate was 10" center to center. I upgraded to the B&M and TCI streetfighter converter. Those both had the same 10inch mouting dimention. Whatever converter you decide to buy the specs with tell you the flex plate mounting bolt dimentions. Probably no need for you to get a new flexplate unless since it is apart an upgrade is easy.
My order last week from summit with a nice 3000 convertor.
TCI-142300

BMM-10239

so if i bought an 11" Converter and a flexplate to suit it will match up no matter what?

So long as its for a 904.

Call Summit or Jegs.....get a converter for a 904 trans and a flex plate for the converter.....should be a 6 bolt crank flange. Order the P/N that drjay0 posted and you will be just fine. If you have a 318 the flex plate will be different...you will need a flex plate for a neutral balance motor. 318's are internally ballanced. If want even less confusion call Mancini Racing or Cope Racing Transmission and tell them what you are driving, waht the car is used for and they will get you what you need.

I wont be buying that combo above as its too much $$$ at the moment.
I just want a stock converter and flexplate.

On Year One's website they sell a stock converter for $100 and flexplates so ill give them a shot.

Cant thankyou guys enough for all your help.
Dusterb318 your a knowledgeable chap, thanks again.

Thanks...here to help. Y1 should set you up with no problem.......

Well just spoke to Y1 and ordered it all plus a few other bits too.
First time dealing with them and I have to say, very efficient and friendly on the phone.

Again thanks for the help.
