Have a question on the numbers on the pan rail on a 904 transmission.
The numbers on the transmission are

34 0079A 3220 6418

727 transmissions start with a PK shouldn't the 904 start like that? Or do they use the 34 instead at the beginning?

Thanks for any information.

Here's a tranmission ID chart for Chrysler, but I dont see that number in it.

I found a 3410779 on the list you had a link to. I just wonder if the 1 wasn't stamped in very well on the transmission numbers because it is in a 70 dart that was a 318 car. It is the only number even close to the one on tranny.

Rob,

It's a good possibility the guy stamping your transmission dropped his roaches cherry in his lap so he missed the "1"... :)

Looks like you solved your mystery!

Rob that list TB posted the link to is the same list I looked at and saw the 3410779 so that's probably it. Like CB said they probably mis-stamped it.

Hey Rob do 904's not start out with a PK like 727's? I thought all pass car trans. started out PK.

Maybe it's more of the mis-stamping like the missing # in the middle?
