904 neutral/back up light switch question

My switch is leaking from the center plastic portion of the switch, it's not a functional switch as I have a shifter with switch and it's the long type....can I replace it with the short type, just using it basically as a plug?

Yes, the switches do interchange with only the plug end being different. The "outie" is the older type while the "innie" is newer.

Or you can hit the leaky one with a cleaner, and coat it with a 2-part epoxy to seal it. But it's gotta be CLEAN.
