904 tranny issues

i recently put a new edelbrock carb on my car and before going from 2nd to 3rd had a minor hit going in not it really hits shifting in that gear, is the kickdown arm not set right, or is a vacuum line needed if so where does that hook to?? im lost just bought this car a few weeks ago suppose to be a rebuilt tranny in it.. maybe that was a original lie? can anybody help me.

Hey 72swingerwoman, welcome to the site. The 904 doesn't require any vacuum lines, but the mechanical linkage has to be set up properly or you'll eventually damage your tranny. Basically, when your throttle is all the way open, the lever at the tranny should be all the way back. If you do a search on here, I know there are service manual pics and specs of the proper setup for the linkage. Good luck.

Kickdown linkage needs adjustment. No vacuum used on mopar auto trans.
