915 head valve stem seals

Hello guys, I'm putting together a 69 340. Got around to the heads.Got a Clevite gasket kit from Napa. These are 915 j heads . Getting ready to install springs and found the stem seals. Eight are rounded type and eight are square shouldered and deeper. Intake and exhaust ? Anyone know? Is there a better seal ?

The square shouldered type is the intake and the round type is exhaust. The new style steel and rubber seals are what were useing now, but you have to cut the guide for seals to make them fit the .530 ID.

The squarer ones are the intake seals. The rounded ones are for the exh valves.
