the car was stripped to bare metal and totally disassembled

things i added that were not original are:

        air conditioning
        70' rallye dash
4 speed and a b body pistol grip shifter
74' non vent window doors and door panels
        sport mirrors
        69 glovebox door
        spool k member
        cop car wheels
        silver paint
        1 1/8 front sway bar
        disk brakes up front
        fender mounted turn signal indicators
        x heads
        hp 68 exhaust manifolds
tti x pipe manifold back exhaust
        torker 340 intake
        edelbrock 650 carb
        mini starter
        bullet cam

i did everything myself except install the front glass. and it turns out i am not much of a bodyman/painter. it will lokk better when i can cut and buff it though i think.

Just a thought. You need to shit can that "air filter" and get a real one. It has turned your 4bbl into about a 1 1/2 bbl, and I'm not kidding. Have you done a WFO (Wide Friccckkin Open) run without it?

EDIT LOL I guess I was looking at the "before..........."

i was going to go for a first drive this past sunday but the alternator took a dump. turns out they are hard to come by. so i took it and had new brushes put in it for 10 bucks. and i had a spare single pulley 100% rebuilt to look like new with a double pulley added in place of a single pulley for 50 bucks. i didnt know roundback two fields were so scarce. not a one to be found at any parts store near me and the ebay prices for a used one were sky high.

if anyone needs their original alternator or starter rebuilt i recommend

Dave's Armature Service on jackson ave. in memphis tn. very reasonable prices.

i actually used the base off of the air cleaner in the before picture when i converted the 2bbl cleaner till i can find one. it still probably hurts performance i would guess.

Your car looks great!, I hope to have my drivable in the next 6 months. The machine shop called today and said my block, head and crankshaft are ready to pick up. I can relate to that "broke" feeling.

its the stock 318 28k mile motor out of the rusty B5 blue car in the pictures. i put ported X heads, Bullet cam, crower Double roller timing chain, HV oil pump, eddy 340 torker, eddy 4bbl, hp 68 manifolds. still running points

i bought the cam and lifters for a 100 bucks from a guy that only ran it once on his 340 on a run stand. turns out its a regrind. i had to put valve lash caps on it to quieten up. it has a little bump to it but nothing radical. the cam card says @.050 217,221, @.006 272 276, 454 lift, 112 separation.

i dont know much about cam selection but i think there is a better cam for the motor. i only bought this one sight unseen/unknown because it was cheap.

"Somebody's" 262 grind would be good. OR is you can find one a Comp 265DEH would be fantastic.

Also, FWIW, there are better intake manifolds out there. I'm a firm believe in using what you have, though, so I would make the best of it until you can upgrade.

that intake is on there because it has bigger port size and provisions for mounting the A/C and it was cheap. but you nailed it. its what i had until i can level up one day. i saved the numbers matching block to this car in hopes of making a stroker motor out of it one day.

El5dart, what are your plans with the b5 blue dart? I am looking for a complete set of blue seat belts if it had them and you were looking to sell them? Just throwing it out there. I was going to message you but your inbox is full.

                Thanks, Carl

What a transformation! That's nice and it shows the hard work it takes to bring one up. Looks great. There's a single handful of Mopar folks here in Tupelo, you have a gang of them in Mempho? I'd like to connect up w/some more.
I'm looking for another A-body, working on pickups now, but want another Dart, Duster, Valiant...something. el5dart, keep up the good work!
