I have a few transmissions I would like to learn as much as possible about them before I install one in my 67 barracuda.

First one is a cast iron case A-833 I was given by a (very good) friend years ago, it supposedly came from an early 70,s 340 duster (I never saw the car it came from so I don't know?)

It reads: PP8333007 0449

0B164631

the next trans is a cast iron A-833 OD (at least I was told this when I purchased it).

It reads: PP8335229

Thanks,

Bob

PS: can you explain how the date code digits so I can figure it out?

It reads: PP833 3007 0449 3007 = 10/21/1969 0449 = unit produced that day

0B164631 '0' = 70 model year, 'B' = Hammy plant, 164631 = sequence #

the next trans is a cast iron A-833 OD (at least I was told this when I purchased it).

It reads: PP8335229 5229 = 11/25/1975

It's a 10,000 day calendar see here for a calculator

Still need a picture of those pedals? I finally got over to grab a set.

No I don't need the pedals now. The guy who sold me the trans, blowshield, flywheel, etc. had a set so I bought those from him. I had driven 3 hours to PA and figured I better buy as much stuff that he had to make trip worth while.

Thanks,

Bob
