A body 904 core?

-
The local recycler pays $15 for cores and charges me $30. A 66 is about worthless with it's coarse spline input shaft and non part throttle kickdown valve body. Did you say he was a "friend"?

I talked to Jeff, the 904 is free. It came from a guy that is failing with Alzheimer's. They'll sell the good stuff but give the misc parts to someone that can use it.
(I will make sure his frig is stocked with his favorite brand) lol

Late to the thread, but in the last year in the Denver area I've picked up an unknown condition 1976 non-lockup core with converter for $100 and a 1970 recently rebuilt with converter and flexplate for $150.

sometime in the 70s they offered the part throttle kickdown. That's a nice feature, too. Easy enough to add, but they are getting hard to find, so if you find one with it already that solves that issue.
71s and up had the PT kick-down, which in a stockish engine or with a 4bbl, is a nice feature. You don't have to floor it for the trans to kick down, and if you are careful, the secondaries won't open either.
I think the 71s to about 75 are the better cores.

The slanty's got PT kickdown, I think a year sooner, not sure.
