A body 904 tranny fit in a 1983 dodge prospector truck?

My buddy has a 1983 dodge prospector with a 727 in it now. the reverse went out the tranny is now stuck in park also. i have a 904 that was going to go in my 72 scamp. will the 904 fit in his truck??? thanks a bunch shane

Yes.....but.....you will need a 904 converter and longer driveshaft. Don't forget that 318 balancers were neutral and 360 were counterweighted. and some had lock-up converters. They don't interchange. Some trucks did use a 2 piece driveshaft but I don't know in what years and/or applications. Some truck transmissions also had a short tailshaft! I don't know if any linkages would be different.

first...drop the pan....check the rear servo...alot of times if you lose reverse the servo has rolled in the bore.....and can be a easy fix...
