A-Body Transmission Support

Hi Gents,

If you are replacing a 904 with a 727, do you need to have a transmission support? I don't even know if I have one under my 904. If there is one for the 904, can you use the same support for the 727?

yes, the real difference is in the tail shaft. If I remember correctly, from edge of housing to center of support is AROUND 32".

In all my dealings the mount locations were always a fit. The drive shaft dimensions however are another story. The 904 has a smaller output shaft and also as mentioned above a different overall length. When changing rearends and transmissions you will have different driveshaft length requirements. I belive there is a race bulletin on this in the old yellow book and also a section in the chassis manual.
