I have 3 chrome pieces that go below the rear window on my 65, two of them have the round Valiant V on them and one has the Barracuda on it. Is this a year to year thing or could it be a difference from a Canadian produced car over a US built one? My other question is, I have two trunk lids. One has holes in it for the Plymouth letters, and one does not. Again. is this a year thing, or a Canada/USA thing? I'd just like to know what would be correct for my car. I'm not doing a correct restoration on this car, it's just going to be a hot rodded driver but I'm really curious about the differences.

Regards
Red

Hey Red I can tell you this I have 65s in my yard they all have the V and all were sold in USA. As far as trunk lids mine all have plymouth letters

The V emblem was used on 1964 and 1965 Barracuda's, The fish emblem was used on 1966 Barracuda's as a general rule. I've heard there were some late production 1965's that had the fish emblem, though I haven't seen any myself. The only Canadian Barracuda I've seen had the word "Valiant" across the trunk instead of "Barracuda". The Canadian Barracuda also used the Dart dash.

My 65 has the V emblem and Plymouth letters and the 66 has the fish (can't remember if it's got any letters

Back in the days when I got a couple of Barracudas in the body shop that needed replacement trunk lids I ordered replacements from the dealer. They came without holes for letters. A drill your own deal.....
I was always gonna order one up for my car and leave the letters off the trunk (way more sano than the hole braze up...) but the replacement trunk was discontinued before I ever ordered one. Perhaps you have one of those replacement trunk lids........

Thanks for the info guys. I think I'm going to use the fish on my car because it's the least pitted of the 3 I have, plus I just like it better. I never thought about the possibilty of my trunk lid being a replacement but that answer makes sence to me.

Thank you all again.
