I ran across this photo on a search for "Dart seats" on the internet. WTH is it? A Dart with a Charger roof, is this for real?

Looks like a dart roof with some extra length added near the deck lid (maybe body filler or lead under the vinyl top). The back and side windows look like dart glass. Do you have a better picture?

That`s the only pic I have, but Mrmopartech says it`s a S.American/ Australian model. Is it a Dart or Charger, about 1970? I may try searching South American/ Australian Mopars to see if I can find out more. Interesting mix!

It is in Australia anyway a option on the Valiant Hardtop 1971 (Dodge Dart) it is a pretty rare option here it is called a ''Mexicana''.
I will chase down some local links that will clarify it a bit better.

Cheers

Benton

I saw one in a wrecking yard here in Fresno a number of years ago. I believe it was from Mexico.

Hence the "mexicana" option Benton mentioned. That would have made quite a conversation piece here in N.America! If it is from Mexico you`d think some would have made their way into Texas, Arizona, and California, etc..

Here is the Brazillian Classifieds for Dodge. Man, are there some nice Mopars down there. Check out the 79 Magnum. Sure looks like my 76 swinger with a weird sail panel window.

Since the everyday guy can't play the pricing war anymore, maybe this is the next wave. Importing some unique muscle. Maybe it's time to go partners with someone in the shipping container business.

correct me if im wrong but wouldnt it just be easier 2 clone one of these things??? just find a 68-70 charger thats wrecked or a roof off ebay and chop off and weld the necessary pieces onto a 67-69 dart and get a front clip off a brazil car(cheap) and add charger R/T emblems and viola instant brazil dartger R/T

I`m not personally interested in having one, I just thought it was either a Frankenmopar or an interesting piece of Mopar history that others might enjoy seeing.
