"Dodge" should have their a$$ kicked for some of their design nonsense. One of them is the annoying clips that are supposed to hold Magnum header flange bolts. The clips rust, the bolts spin, and you cannot get a wrench on them. I've now torn down several of these, (junkers) and most of them I had to plasma the bolts in half to get them apart.

I may regret using these bolts I PLANNED on "next time" using grade 2 bolts....perhaps even downsizing to 5/16 so they are easier to twist off with a wrench. Anyhow here are the clips and the "for now fix............."

We'll see how awesome it is, LOL, next time I try and take it apart!!

Got most of this done. This truck has not run since last fall.......few details, the engine/ trans braces, new engine oil filter and trans filter, and oil and fluid, a few more bolts, and have to fix the wire to one of the O2 sensors. Then it is get running, get licensed, and attack "other issues." I think it needs brakes, not sure.

It damn sure needs tires!!! I've got a "usable" set "used" have to mount them on fancy 17" alloy wheels

The object "long term" here is to fix the major problems, get it running and driving, then sell the 1500

I put anti rust on all exhaust system bolts and even pipes to prevent nightmares like that. So far I've been lucky when taking exhaust apart.

Ugh, feel you on the tires. Just put $500 of tires on my 2000 ram with 250k miles on it. Didn't want to but I had a bubble in the rf so bad i thought it was gonna blow up.

I'll take Chryslers nut and bolt set up any day over Ford and Chevys stud setup that like to break off in the manifold if you don't heat the nuts first.

You bet. This thing worked awesome. If I do it again on anything else, I'll use shorter 1" or so top material and "L" shape instead of "T"

When I worked on Porsche's we used copper bolts and washers (single use) No leaks and break off when you are ready to take them apart.
