A Pillar Weatherstrip Install

Installing new Steele A pillar gaskets from Detroit Muscle on my 69 Barracuda convertible. I cannot seem to get them to lock in tight. Should an adhesive be used?

There is a metal strip that the seal should lock into.

I recall there being some screws through the seal top and bottom but not sure

Some spots of adhesive every few inches couldn't hurt

Yes that's the problem. Tge new gasket doesn't seem to lock into that metal strip tighr enough. Probably a repop issue. They were expensive but why should I expect them to fit properly Looks like I am breaking out the liquid nails.

I would use weatherstrip adhesive and sparingly.

I just installed a pair of these. No adhesive necessary, just make sure you put the pin/rivets in at the top.
