a833 makes noise 1-2 and 3-4 shifts ..

it make a grinding noise when shifting 1-2 or 3-4 and even 3-2 or 2-1 the trans has all new bearings and syncros and the gears still had mesh paint on them when it was rebuilt any idea???

Ya if you have not try adjusting the clutch first.

with the clutch pedal all the way up, back the ajusting nut off till there is 5/32' free play at the clutch fork. That will leave about 1'' of free play at the clutch pedal.

Did you check the thrust clearance of the cluster gear when you put it together?

well i am using 75-90 syn, the clutch has 5/32 of free play, and i checked the free play in the cluster gears.

are the rods adjusted at the shifter correctly? i assume that with the 5/32" play that you are running a 3 finger clutch.
