ABS headliner

Has anyone used one of those ABS replacement headliners in a Duster?
I am interested in the product.

If anyone has first hand experience with them and maybe a picture please let me know.

I put one in my Silver Duster some 5 years ago.

a couple of hints....TEST FIT and drill your holes for the RV mirror, shoulder belt, and sun visors (etc) also I extended the slits on the corners to get it to form.....still a one man install could best be described as a monkey f*ckin a football.

initially vinyl was glued to the ABS....and didn't hold. So I bought some light weight felt material and spray-glued.....worked A-OK.

it is about the only choice since no one makes a factory style cardboard replacement.

Exactly!!!

I did it myself too, kind of awkward. Fit pretty well, I did a little trimming on the corners here and there but nothing too fancy.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that had issues with the pre-installed vinyl coming of the ABS. Looked great until the first few days in the 90's and then it started to separate. Doesn't bother anything, I'll fix it when I drop the headliner to fix a couple dents before I paint the roof. I might just buy the plain ABS headliner if I was to do it again, that way I could buy and install my own vinyl and get it right the first time.
 
Perhaps I cheated, but I got one with the vinyl already glued and it still looks "acceptable" after 3 years. The corners were not exactly right, but acceptable.
Install was easy, but then I just rolled the car upside down on the rotisserie!

I did the same in my 69 swinger. Very nice results. Looks modern.

Hardest part was getting the side trim to fit over it properly. Not a big deal though. This car had a roll cage so I kind of had an extra set of hands helping me.
 
I bought mine on Amazon, there's a seller that always has them on there
 
Has anyone bought one of these and the fabric has not de-laminated?
If so, where did you get it?

The ones with the vinyl already installed pretty much always delaminate. I bought some 3m headliner adhesive and re-glued mine, piece of cake. But next time I'd just buy the plain abs on and do the vinyl myself. It's been great since I re-glued it .

Mine had vinyl already installed. I have not seen any delamination of anything yet...
I think it has been 4 or 5 years now.

I think either Year One, or a company called Stock Interiors. I will see if I can narrow that down for you,

Anyone have qny pictures ? Unless you want black the color options dont seem to match the stock color interiors. Or I'm looking in the wrong place. Like to see the texture of a uncovered one.
