I'm switching from a 71 dart dash to a 73 dart dash in my 71 swinger. The plugs are different between those years for the heater and AC between the harness and heater-AC controller, but the color code is the same. Is it safe to splice a plug onto the wire harness ,keeping the color code the same and not burn it up? Thanks Jim

They are probably the same, but it would be best to compare the wiring diagrams of the two systems. The diagrams in the factory manuals do identify the color of each wire. Do both 71 and 73 have the same number of wires? And how many wires are we talking about?

All the wires are AC heater and blower motor resistor related. same number of wires,8, same colors just the shape of the plug is different. One plug is the 2 speed blower motor switch The other is the push button vacuum controller plug
