Accurate LTD tips "heavy gauge option"

Has anyone purchased the "heavy gauge option" for Accurate LTD's exhaust tips? I plan on using them on my 68 dart with the TTI 2.5" tail pipes but don't know whether to go with the heavy gauge option. Any thoughts or opinions?
