The car (a 1964 Plymouth Valiant Convertible) purchased by my father in 1979, spent the majority of its life under a car cover in my parents garage. My father made plans throughout the years to restore the car but things always got in the way. With the loss of my father in 2010, I promised myself that I would eventually get this done.

Four years ago my uncles and I stole my mother's car from her garage. We placed a dummy car under the car cover. She was none the wiser. The past weekend I had the joy of throwing her a surprise party. I had relatives come in from out of town. It was epic. After the initial surprise I let mom settle in for a couple of hours and surprised her again with her car.

I am so happy this forum exists. The advice and parts made available to me from this community were invaluable.

OUTSTANDING!!!
OK, now about that dummy car that was under the car cover for 4 years...another A-body?

Cudos young man!

You deserve to go to the Son's Hall Of Fame!

That is a wonderful thing to do for our Mom!

Wow! Awesome work on your mothers car! What a sweet story. You dad must be proud over your work on the car. Now it's up to your mom to go cruising!

That my friends, is a perfect definition of a good son!
A memorable moment in your life as well as your mom’s.
You couldnt have done it without thinking of your dad the whole time, i’m sure. I hope you two can enjoy it together for a long time.

That is so nice. Your parents did a great job of raising you and you did a great job of being a good guy.

Lol! The dummy car was nothing like the a body. I literally had to sculpt the shape of moms car around it with saw horses and storage tote lids..anything to make it look bigger..
