Aftermarket fuel gauge and grounding strap

Im running the Speedhut gauges and its adjustable for your float level. You set the full tank, and empty tank and the gauge knows those two settings and adjusts accordingly.

Im still curious though if the sending unit should be grounded like when using he original gauge cluster?

If it matters the car is a 71 Scamp

Yes, you need to complete the series circuit. Supply, gauge, sender, ground. Ground returns the supply -. Everthing is a circle .
