So the Procar sportsman seat will NOT fit in my car. Just the seat, without the sliders or even brackets, is as tall as my bench. I'm only 5'11" and my head is almost in the roof.

Also, my car has the 1976 floorboards, so no one that I have found makes bolt in brackets for it. I will need to fabricate something.

So my question is, what type of aftermarket seats do you have, and how did you mount them?

How thick is the bottom cushion? This is my big problem area.

I've got '99 dodge avenger seats in my '73 duster.

I used the factory front outside hole for reference ( to make the seats the same distance from the door sills)

Then bolted some threaded stock through the factory holes on the avenger seats

Then set the seat hieight by moving the seat up/down on the treaded rod.

tacked the rod in place on the floor.

Then made some brackets that look like this that fit over the threaded rod.

welded to the floor, the bottom edge was cut to match the floor of the car where ever it lined up.
All in all a real pain in the but.. might not do it that way again

******KEEP IN MIND THE TRANS TUNNEL IS NOT IN THE DEAD CENTER OF THE CAR**** I learned the hard way...
I'll get some pics tonight.

In the mean time here are the seats I used.

And look at http://www.70duster440.com/ in the repairs and mods section for the seat height.. mine are about the same.

Right now, getting the seat LOW enough is the issue. I have a 1 3/4 rise in the drivers side floorpan. As a result, I need to get seats with REALLY low profile brackets to keep the height down, and build a spacer for the outside holes to match. Below is his driver side (red) and my driver side (brown and dirt). Notice the LARGE rise to the toward the trans tunnel on my car.
