I see that Edlebrock is selling them with the plenum milled down about 1/2" now. I must have an early run intake. If you have one that came with a milled plenum, how far is it milled down? Thanks

Interesting. Im going to have to look at mine, I've always been curious about it and since its off the engine now is the perfect time.

3/4"

or just toss a 1/2" phenolic open spacer on and call it a day... Probably need one for hot days anyway.

I run a Pro Products on my Magnum 360.
Tried a 3/4" open and the 60' went up 1.65 to 1.69
My car is quicker with a 1" 4 hole spacer.
Tested different pump shots etc.

Why would they mill it down if they run better with a spacer??

So you can run various spacers and still close the hood?

Close the hood easier,my guess. Have an original RPM air gap on my Magnum ,it's a snug fit with a 3" drop base air cleaner, with a flat hood.

It looks like Weiand stole Edelbrocks design. The runners are identical with a few minor changes. I guess it's enough to not violate Eddy's patent. The Eddy had the plenum notched and the Weiand didn't.

I think the notched plenum maybe equal to using a spacer without hood to carb clearance issues.

I do not know how much the new intake divider is cut down, I do have an old ld340 intake cut down about 5/8" and run a 1/4" gasket. this is old info on dual plane intakes. cutting down the divider gives a little more top end, slightly less low end-like approaching a single plane intake. so some cut off 1/2", some folks go more and cut down leaving only a 1/2", not rocket surgery
