I am trying to find the bushings needed for my wiper linkage. I ordered the ones that I was told were correct for "all" Mopars, but they're too small. Has anyone else run into this problem?

I spent alot of time looking here on FABO, but no luck. I am sure these pieces are original to my 72 Demon.

Does anyone know please? Here's a pic of what I have now......you can see the new bushing will fall thru the opening.

I'm not sure what you have there, but I think the ones you want are part number 2631766. At least that is what is supposed to fit 69 linkage. Shouldn't be any difference. I ordered a few this week and they are supposed to be in 1st of next week. ( Mine were black, but color could have changed over the years.) If you want you can PM me middle of next week and I will let you know if they are correct. Keith

I took a shot at the "help" section at Autozone........the ones they had fit nice and tight (a little too tight......pain to get 'em on......used a little lube)..but they looked nearly exact to the originals. :toothy10:

Keith, I justed called my local dealer w/ the part # you posted and they told me it was discontinued....hmmm

Had no idea you could get anything like this after market. We don't have Autozone in Nova Scotia, but would you have a part number for future reference. It may be able to crossover to another brand. Thanks.

FYI.....the mid 80s Dodge vans used them also.....
...and they are easier to get out of an old van

Hey 6pk. Guess what? My dealer told me the same thing, but he said he would try to order them anyway. He did and they are "releasing them" in his words. So I am supposed to be getting mine next week. Maybe they are only available at the Canadian warehouse yet. He would probably sell some to you if you want. Saunder's Motors, Bridgewater, Craig 902-543-3111.

I will try AutoZone again, but I'm pretty sure I tried that already awhile ago.....but maybe that was for something else...

I get going on one project, get stuck and move on to something else. Well, back on this little thing again...

Just for reference, the bushings I bought are .620 and the diameter of the wiper linkage opening is .770

Thanks to all for your suggestions.

Keith, I will go to AutoZone today. If I find some, I will post a part # for you.

NAPA also has them in a 2-piece blister pak. At least, the ones that fit a '74 Duster or Dart Sport.

Little trick... warm them up a while in a cup of HOT water and they will soften enough to ease installation.

Bought 2 different packs of wiper bushings in the "Help" section today at AutoZone. Thought 1 of them would work, but not...... :angry6:

There was 1 bushing in the multi-piece pack that matched the ones I had already purchased.

But.......there is more to the story. I will take a couple pix and post again.

weird. my 72 demon need those also. went to the local dealer and they pulld them right off the shelf for me.

Here is a pic of the difference in the wiper arms from early to late. I think the larger diameter style was used from 67 thru 6-1-72 according to some Mopar books I did some research in......

My 72 Demon is an early build date....I think Sept of 71 or so
Just for sheets and giggles, crawled under the dash of a 67 Dart to see what the wiper setup looked like.

Looky what we found....

Here is the bushing installed on the arm. So completely different than any I have seen here while researching on FABO. I am sure there has been another post from a member, but I couldn't find it.

No wonder I stuffed this in the "DO IT LATER" pile.....:toothy10:

cecil4speed, Let me know if those bushings you ordered are indeed correct. That part # you posted matches my research from today. 8) There are no part #'s to be found on the bushing I have.
Hope this helps you and someone else too. :bootysha:
