As I am preparing to pull my 273 commando for cleaning and painting. I have some new parts when I put everything back together. Is there anything I can do to keep the new alternator looking good

Plans are for the motor to be pulled around May 11th. Going to have time to clean and paint the motor and the engine bay.

If you have a starter/alternator rebuild place close by, get them to take it apart and check everything. They should have a tumbler to clean the case, so you could clear it before they put it back together and test it. I had John Bell do that to the alternator in my convertible back in 1993, and it looks as good right now as the day I put it on.

JD, I was going to do just that, but purchased a new one. I think mine was good, just one of those things I do that may not be the best. I was ordering some ignition parts and purchased this.
