Aluminum intake

-
Aluminum is very porous so it absorbs all kinds of gunk. No matter what you clean it with, unless you protect the metal it will just get grungy again.

Send it to me! :-D And don't worry ... I'll send it back. You won't have to deal with an ugly intake again.

I hear that the porosity of the aluminum helps heat blead off (surface area) and a sealed (powder coated/painted) intake will hold/transfer more heat to the intake charge?

You do top notch work, I dig your valve covers!

To the OP, brakekleen... spray the piss out of it then blow dry with compressed air...and dont touch it with dirty hands after.....

I have used Eastwood Aluminum Prep and Cleaner Quart Trigger Bottle with good results, then I coat it with Aluma Blast Paint from Eastwood. Does a nice job and holds up well over time. I wear vinyl gloves when cleaning the intake, to stop the oils from my hands from getting on the cleaned intake before spraying with the paint.
