All,

Thanks in advance for your help. Currently working on re-wiring a 1968 Barracuda with the American Autowire kit. When trying to connect the wiring for the heater, the connectors are different sizes. I tried to contact American Autowire about it and although they were very responsive for other issues, I did not get a reply for this issue. If I can help it, I really do not want to use the original harness and keep it with the car with the original parts. Is there a way to purchase an original male connector so I add it to the American Autowire harness or any other options out there?

Thank you.

Swap the connectors? This would leave your old harness intact. Maybe put a piece of tape on it with a note that it was swapped so you'll remember. Then maybe you can source another OE connector later. Buys you some time anyway and you can keep moving.

I have a donor harness, if you can post photos of the exact connectors you need I might have them.

If I have them you can have them for shipping.

Thanks for the offer. I did order a male and female connector from the other link above but if it does not work out I will be sure to reach out.

Looks like both the grey and blk connectors have female terminals? You could make 3 short jumpers with male terminals. I probably have the grey mating piece as well? What are the terminals in the black connector?

American Auto Wire used my 69 Cuda to make their harness but I don't have a heater hooked up. I'll look and see what's on mine. But swapping the connectors are easy if they use similar terminals. Just use a very small flat blade and push it inside of it to slightly bend down the tab inside. and pull it out then push it inside the old one. I also have a complete wiring diagram if you need any info.

See the small slots in the end of the terminals, that's where you push in the blade.

Looked at mine and it's a 2 terminal T. It doesn't look like yours. But remember it was the first one made. It may have a 3rd one but I couldn't get up under the dash right now. Sorry I couldn't be too helpful on this.

I was wrong on the connector. I took a better look today as I was cleaning up the barn. It needs a jumper and I don’t know if I even have one for it. But here’s some Info, hope it helps.

Hello All,

The Barracuda had to go back to the body shop last year, and now its back home and starting back with finishing the electrical. For the Dash Gauges, was able to swap out the factory ammeter, and installed a Sunpro voltmeter in its place.

1. Any recommendations for connecting the positive and negative side of the voltmeter to the American Autowire harness?
2. I have a factory rear-air setup, any recommendations for connecting the rear-air switch to the American Autowire harness?
3. American Autowire had sent me special lamp sockets that had metal connectors that helped fit the socket to the round marker light housing. I need two more for the front and the part numbers they had provided were "02984323 Lamp socket" and "92964600 Terminal rivet, 16-18 (fed from right side)" Would anyone know where they might be able to sourced?

Again, thanks everyone for your help, it is appreciated.
