UPDATE: NEW PICS
Well i started at going to school at HRI (hot rod institute). Love the school and what im learning, already learned how to MIG and TIG weld. This is the only pic i have as of right now, the rest are on my camera. the plan for right now is to do almost complete teardown. build subframe connectors, build 4 point roll cage, build a set of caltracs style traction bars fix the engine mounts. Get new bushings and rubber for the front end. Im taking the chassis fab class right now. Will be doing alot more with the car in metal fab and refinishing. Im also planning on a new interior, make my own door panels and all new upholstery. this pic is just at the end of the first day of teardown.

the only cancer ive found so far has been under the fenders between the fenders and the body sealer, not too bad just minor.

thank you, the teardown is still going, got a little more done today, ill get interior out tommorow and take some more progress pictures. looks like alot of brackets and misc parts that im going to have to get powdercoated....looks like ill be contacting leana about some powdercoating.

Finally started doing some real work. Bought 1.5 inch tubing for the roll cage and subrame connectors. Bent the hoop and the rear bars. not done with the subframe connectors or mounting pads yet, but the cage looks cool just sitting in there. Also just bought a 78 volare wagon for parts

It is looking really good. So...what are your plans for the car ? Are you going to keep it Yellow ?

thanks, the plans are resto/mod. The roll cage will be the only custom touch that is noticable. Will greatly stiffen up the car, the cage will be tied to the rear subframe and the subframe connectors. I will be repainting the car Citron Yellow, and I will do it right and paint the whole car inside and out like the factory did. you can see the origional color in these last pics....kind of a fawn tan color....not crazy about it.

Also got part of the passenger side subframe connectors done today. Will definitly post pics of those, they look cool.8)

here I got the spring perches moved and tack welded in.

Here is the driver side subframe connector I bent and welded up....pretty happy with the way it turned out.

yea, you dont have to bring in your own car but I think you learn to do better work if you do it on your own car.
