I have looked at links and googled until I am blue in the face and can't quite find what I'm looking for. I have a 64 Dart GT..Under A-5....F-1....H-5...M-3....N-8...Q-0...R-2...T-8

SO Number BDY TRM PNT
0128 6219 742 P4X PPBB

So far all I can figure out is the SO NUMBER and TRM but nothing else..Don't particularly want you to do it for me but at least give me a link to a site that shows you in layman terms.I mean I understand BDY is Body but what the hell is the 742 referenced too.Clear as mud??
Thanks for any help.

Hello there. If you use the search section on this site type in fender tag and it will give previous posts with questions like yours. I just did it cause I know I have seen a link before on fender tag decoding. Scroll down to one called new fender tag post or something like that and there I a link there that might help. Good luck.

thanks..I've done that and looked at several of them with no help...Not much info for those of us with the Early A's..mostly 69 and above.

OK,
sorry for some reason my mind skipped over the first part of you're post where you said you had looked at posts allready

Look here: 1964 Dodge Body Plate Data

Based on that (and using this pic I found at another site for a map)

65.jpg

SO Number BDY TRM PNT
0128 6219 742 P4X PPBB

SO: 0128 (planned deliver date, month/date so January 28th)

Number: Production Sequence 6219

Body: 742 - Dodge Dart GT 2-dr Hardtop

Trim: P4X - Black Vinyl

Paint: PP - Red (lower and upper body both P=Red)

Then, it looks like you should have a single digit after the PP that would indicate single tone, two tone, etc., as per below:
1 = Single tone
2 = Two tone (Roof / Body)
3 = Side sweep accent (Sportsweep in 1962)
4 = Painted racing stripes (1965)
5 = C-pillar (1965-66 Chrysler)

Paint color chips here: Color Chip Selection or here: 1964 Dodge Exterior Paint Chip Palette

Also, info here: Mopar Fender Tag Decoding : Drivin' It Home

This link purports to decode the Letters-over-numbers part of the fender tag, but what you posted doesn't seem to fit in several of them - can you post a pic of your fender tag?

1965 Mopar Fendertag codes

You can buy a book here that is supposed to have all the codes: Amazon product ASIN B014WKYS1K(I don't have a copy so I can't reference it for you)

Where'd you track down this info, cosgig?

I don't know brother, I just hit my stack of white books, they're all an enthusiast needs! Most of the time, anything online is 67-74 and doesn't give any love to anything before 66!! No wonder too, the 62-65 tag is a hard tag to read, and really doesn't provide any useful information! I know everybody wants to know what size battery their 64 Cuda came with!!! :)

Where might one get their hands on these white books by chance ?

One would call Galen Govier at 608-326-6346, or email him at [email protected]. I would suggest getting the entire set, and the parts interchange book as well!! I think the entire set runs about $60, money well spent and darn handy to throw into your junkyard toolbox.....just in case!!!
