I replaced the steering wheel on my 66, and the "bushing" ....that keeps the horn from honking when you don't want it to.... fell apart. Now the horn honks whenever I turn the steering wheel (I had to unplug the horns). Anyone know where I might find one of these fragile bushings or insulators?

Most of the time finding an original is nearly impossible for something this old. In the past I've went to the local Ace hardware and looked through their hardware isle and found something close enough to cut down and use.

Sorry but since I haven't had one apart for so long maybe I'm not understanding which piece your talking about. Is this a real large part? Is there any way you can post a pix? I was under the assumption it is a small bushing by your first post.

it uses 3 small springs does it not.. i havent had my wheel apart in a while but ill have to check and get back to you on that one!

ok i managed to find my 67 horn and rip it apart. the spring assembly seems to be riveted together and i dont quite see what you pan to replace. it has internal springs and working of the such. hope this is the same as our 66's other then that i dont know what to tell ya!
