Any early A guys redo thier e-brake setup?

Im having trouble figuring out how to get the thick cable housing section out of the torsion bar crossmember. At first it looked like it took a wrench, but now with the goo cleared off, it looks like maybe a pin is holding it on.

Yep had the same issue, I thought maybe a deep sock or wrench, but it is like offset D shaped on mine, I just used a small wrench kept twisting it and it worked out of the goo, what a (^()^%&*
 
Sorry I can't remember how I took mine out. I'm still needing to figure something out there. My frame connectors covered that hole up, and my cable will come out of the fire wall and run right into my fenderwell headers too.
