Any flyfishermen on here?

Been fly fishing since I got out of the military in 1970. I spend two or more months a year in the West Yellowstone Area, no less than a month in the Eastern Sierras and probably another couple of weeks fishing other places (usually steelhead). Been tying my own flies since 1970. Right now I volunteer for Project Healing Waters at the local VA.

Lately I've been fly fishing in the local surf. We're getting corbina, barred surf perch and shark on 6 weight rods. Caught a legal sized halibut the first time out.

I have so many rods and reels I don't know where to begin. I recently bought another rod I didn't need at the FFF Enclave at West Yellowstone..... yeah my wife forced me to buy it. Next has to be one of the two handed rods.

Anyone of you fly fishers in Yellowstone Aug - Oct or fish the Sierras in California. Send me a PM

I heard that here in Colorado If you take your boat out of a lake effected with some kinda snail you have to sterilize the bottom before they will let you leave the boat ramp area. Here, read up on it......

Same thing in some California, Idaho and Montana lakes. Mud Snail and whirling disease problems in most Western states. Idaho even checks pontoon and float tubes.... it's a big fine to not stop at checkpoints.

Yep, here in Ark and Mo they also recommend you wash your live wells out with bleach but it isn't enforced. I'll check with the conservation dept today and get the scoop on the wader issue and report back. I only have 4 sets of neoprene that i guess i'll just throw away. Yea right, Not in this lifetime.
