Season has been in for two weeks now and I finally got out last Saturday, had a gobbler coming first thing in the morning but he met up with some hens along the way and never got close enough. Monday morning 8am I'm relaxing over my morning coffee and the kid calls from the shop and says he can hear a turkey gobblin'...when I got to the shop sure enough in the field by my shop is a gobbler....I've had to work all week from early morning til late night so no hunting. Today I'm sitting here at my desk, there is a window in front of me and there's the gobbler walking back and forth in the field. What are the odds he'll be there tomorrow??? Haven't seen any hens though so it's wierd he's hangin' out. Oh well, I guess I should do something other then watch the turkey....

you are welcome to come out here and shoot as many of them damn things as you want. filthy, flying, cockroaches.........

Good chance he'll roost near by, they usually fly up at dusk, if you can find out where he's roosting and set up early in the AM about 150 yards away and do some calling he just might fly down. Beware, they have wicked eyesight.

If you don't have a turkey call you can try getting him to "shock gobble" basically any loud noise out of the blue, I've even heard them gobble to a flock of geese, crows are good, hawk sounds etc.
