Actually, I'm thinking about having some made. My son is writing code/programs for 3-D printing (as well as working on getting a 3-D scanner), and starting to play with some different types of plastics, nylon, etc. I've got 3 or 4 in my stash of parts, so I'll give them to him to pattern and see how he does. BTW, do you still have Geord's T/A, Barry?
Pretty sure he could, he's getting pretty good at manually copying parts as well. I've got him making a set of reverse lenses for his mom's '64 Barracuda. That was a nice car, especially for Ketchikan. I think I met you back when you had your dart.
Great, thanks for that. I would have assumed there were more than 5 different ones, that makes this endeavor a bit easier. Do you know how the ".75 ratio adapter" comes into play? I'm guessing it goes in line with the cable somewhere...
I bought a bunch of parts from James one day, he was leaving town. In the pile was a 340 bare block with a '72 partial VIN. I asked him if he knew which car it came from & he mentioned a yellow 1972 Road Runner with custom red stripes that used to park behind the Marine View.
I knew the owner & he lived on my way home so I stopped by.
He was not home, so I explained what was up to his wife & she opened the garage door so I could leave his numbers matching 340 inside.
That's pretty cool. He had a six pack on that car if memory serves. Your brother actually ended up with my orange '72 after I sold it to Tommy White (who brought it up from down south).
There was someone else who mentioned that A&A Transmission was looking into reproducing the 65 and earlier speedo gears. My friend has 3.55's and big 15's on his Coronet, needed a 20 something tooth gear. Check with A&A.
I just looked at their website, and they don't list any of the old ones. Doesn't mean they aren't working on it though. Brewer's shows them, but they run up to $120, and I'm assuming that depends on availability. All the ratio adapters I've found this evening are male/female threaded, but I suppose they could be installed under the dash, between the speedo and the cable.
That's another car I wish I'd kept. Too bad fishing then wasn't as good as it is now. Lewis Zastrow bought my '72 roadrunner, black with white guts, I heard that went to a Shull later on. Still have it's original motor.
That car sat for a long time before I got it (in '87?) and I didn't have it very long, as I had no storage space. I remember it had a '71 quarter panel on the passenger side, it was probably rotten even then. The 360 Lew put in it came from his '73/4 Roadrunner that his dad wrecked.

The only ratio adapter I ever saw years ago was near the transmission. I think it fit onto the trans somehow, I guess it went into the trans and then the cable attached somehow? I hope this helps.
That's how all the ones I've seen work as well. The part that was confusing me was how the pre-'66 cable would attatch to the adapter...but it looks like a cable with 2 female thread ends was used when a ratio lower than a 21 tooth gear was needed. Could be the same cable as '66-'67?
