Anyone ever use 4spd carpet in an auto console car?

I can get a hold of a fastback Barracuda 4spd carpet for about half the price as a new one, except the only problem is my car is an auto with a console. The guy claims you can just fold the extra carpet for the 4spd under the console and you cant even tell the difference. Anyone ever do this?

It would be hard to fold it and still have it look good. Sounds like a great deal but you are gonna wish you had bought the correct one. Heck, my 4-speed carpet doesn't fit tight in my 4-speed car, sure wouldn't fit nice it my car had an auto using the same rug.

The 4 speed carpet is much bigger in the shifter area. Wider and flatter in that area. I'd spend the extra cash and get the right one
