I'm still gathering parts for my internally balanced 408 build and I need a neutral flexplate. I had planned on just buying a B&M 10230 flexplate from Summit for $95, but while shopping for some other parts I came across this PRW Platinum Xtreme Duty flexplate on Mancini's website. It's $35 cheaper and SFI rated.

I did a Google search and didn't come up with much as far as reviews or threads about it. Anyone have any concerns about using one? Thanks!

My partner and I have the same flex plates (PRW) on his 2000 Dakota Magnum 360 stock eliminator race truck and my 71 Demon 408 bracket car. We have had no problems with them over the past 4 to 5 years.

I literally bought a flexplate the other day. I looked at that one but just ended up buying the B&M. I kinda forgot about it when I went to order!

If it's got an SFI rating, it should be good. Not sure why it's so much cheaper than the B&M though. Maybe where its made? The B&M has the yellow zinc plating on it also, the PRW does not.

Something about the price difference makes you wonder about it though. Maybe the B&M is too high?

That's what had me wondering? I figured Mancini wouldn't sell it if was junk, but the price difference had me second guessing the B&M piece. I've never been a huge fan of B&M parts, they always seemed like something the Brand X guys used.

I don't want to cheap out, but if I can save a buck or two that's just more money I can spend elsewhere.

I agree. Kinda kicking myself for forgetting about it but oh well. I'm sure it's fine, it's a flexplate.

As long as you have a good balance job, get some ARP flexplate and converter bolts and make sure they are torqued down correctly you should be good.

Theoretically the stroker should turn less RPM than a stock stroke small block so that might give you a little more peace of mind.

damn.... If i'd a noticed that when I ordered my B&M from Mancini I would have been all over it!

Damn, $26 for a SFI approved flex plate. That's pretty cheap! I don't think it's the same one though. This one looks to be the same though.

Their metallurgy is getting better..........only because it couldn't get any worse.
