anyone know of any seats that will go right into a '72 Dart and replace my extremely worn out bench? I know I will have to drill some holes but if anyone can tell me where i can get the buckle or a seat belt to do it, let me know. I really wanna do this as cheap as possible. I think some seats out of a Stratus or other cloud car would work, just unsure on how to rig the seatbelts

No the problem is with out A body seat tracks you will have to fab up some tracks or do some pounding on the floor to get it flat theres a high side and a low side for A body floors with B and E bodys the high side and low side is switched so using B or E body brackets makes it not useable we are using A body buckets with 4 bench seat tracks welding flipping and moding is a must

Wow. That sucks. :wack:So, I can't even make some kind of spacer to even up the sides? This bench is a serious POS. It's like sitting on the floor on the driver's side. Makes me feel like I am 10 trying to drive this car.

Don't get in a big hurry ,Cheap seats are out there. Do some Sunday cruisin You'd be surprised at what people have in their back yard, or back 40. It dosen't hurt to ask. If you find seats make sure they have the tracks. Make sure you measure to know how big a seat you can handle. Are you putting a console in ?

I used 90's bmw manual seats like these in my 67 Dart (without the headrest they almost look like they belong there). The main issues was those weird bench seat humps. They really limit your seat choices. I cut them out welded some flat sheet to mount them. Its not a big deal to me since can i add a spacer to the bench if i ever change my mind.

Right those are what get in your way those stupid high side humps it would be ok if B body floors had, had the humps on the same sides

we are going to make spacers for our buckets but you still have to get/make a set of tracks work

Nope. No console. And I am probably just gonna persuse the local junkyards around here as if you can find the seat, not often do people loot the tracks. unless they are an A-body, of course. I've seen 3 A-bodies down at pull-a-part in the last couple months and every time, the seats are either long gone or the tracks are gone and the seats are just thrown out of the car. Same goes for front disc brake materials. Somewhere out there, there is someone who has a damn shed full of A-body bucket seat tracks because I rarely even see sets pop up on here with tracks

shouldn't be too hard, most sets of seats in pick n pull still have tracks. I think its just an A-body thing to keep the damn tracks for no reason.

Why not replace the bench or get it recovered?Makes havin your sweetie close enough to help shift LOL:p
I'm unsure if refurbishing is even an option at this point. I mean, the cover is fine, the foam is okay, but the springs are completely collapsed on the driver's side. Like I can't really see over the dash. If I come across another A-body bench that's not destroyed, I will probably grab it up and use it:glasses7:

If you can't find A -body seats try B-Body. coronet is very simular to Dart. As far as mounting i used spacers i made to level out the lumps and 4"x 4" 1/16 flat stock for pads replaced the track studs with 5/16 ready rod long enough to go through the floor board. Worked well.
