I have a 74 Duster that im trying to do some wiring diagnosis on. Neither the temp or fuel gauges are working. Car has been sitting for awhile, i'm going to try and change that little dash voltage limiter, and i just got done changing the ignition switch because that was bad in the car.

I checked before i pulled the ignition switch out and the temp and fuel senders were not getting that 'pulse' of power to them. The gauges pegged when i gave them 12v.

Any suggestions? Also i do need the schematic if anyone has one.

Thanks!

It would be well worth your while to get a factory service manual. They have all of the wiring diagrams. I only have one for 1972 so it wouldn't help, but fine one for 1974. Sounds like you'll get your moneys worth out of it.

I have found you can get away with "most" diagrams 69 -74, The wiring your looking at would be pretty much the same. I have a a-body book but the pages are missed up a little. Try one of these listed in the link, or contact me and I "will" hand copy the 74 wiring part you want.
It's your call?

Alrighty well i have a 74 Duster Wiring Manual that should be comin in a few days.

I replaced the ignition switch, and today the temp gauge seemed to work fine. The fuel gauge currently does not have a sender hooked to it, but if the temp now works...it'd make sense that the fuel gauge SHOULD too  :thumblef: The Radio and heater motor are still up in the air.. :violent1:
