Hey is anyone running MT ET Street radials with bead screws? My rims were previously drilled for screws when I was running slicks, but after looking at the tech bullitens on MT site I 'm confused as one page states not to use bead screws with the ET drag radials, and another says to use em if wheel spin is encountered. Can't afford bead lock rims,,,, so what gives????:-k

I ran them on my last car and never screwed them in never had a problem car 10:50's on spray hooked hard.

I had M/T sportsman bias, no screws.

My friend has M/T ET streets, no screws, no tubes, no slipping.

I currently have M/T SR radials and I can drive in the rain with these ones without going off the road anymore.

Tell the guys that mount them not to use lard, or any lube when putting the tires on.

Alot of tire shops use a soap/water mix, I would recammend this then dry mounting, it won't chance ripping the beed & the soap/water will dry out & all will be good.

Alot of guys are running the ET Streets and dipping into the 9's. My buddy runs them on his 04 GTO. He was coming home from the track in the rain(drizzle). He told me it got lose a few times so I would say they aren't rain worthy.

I have run ET Street Bias ply on my car with no screws, they actually do slip a little every run but are not a problem to run that way,

I marked the rim and tire and made some measurements after numerous runs and figured they slip about .006-.008 per run when at 15-18 psi.

I have run other slicks on rims drillled for screws without the screws (without tubes) and have had no real leaks (just the typical slow leak you can get even when using tubes),

They are fine track tires, but will not last long on street!!

Thanks for the tip JoeDust. MT tech dept got back to me they said " no screws, bead locks only" and are going to remove the page on their site where it states to use screws if the radials slip:angry2:. I guess I'll try it w/o screws, but I will have to run tubes as my rims have two different valve stem locations and are the old 2 piece centreline rims rivetted togheter, they always leak air. Bead locks would be nice but aren't in the budget....:(

Thanks for the other info guy's much appreciated!:thumbrig:
